When microphones are exposed to strong wind, WK... windscreens should be used for best performance. Only in the upper frequency range is the output level slightly attenuated. The wind noise attenuation was measured without electrical filtering in a turbulent air stream traveling at 20 km/h, generated by a noiseless wind machine. These windscreens also fit microphones held by an elastic suspension. The microphone is mounted in the EA82 elastic suspension and placed inside the WK81/82 windscreen. This assembly is then attached to the SG82 swivel mount, or the HG82 handle. Suppression of wind noise approx. 24 (25) dB. Attenuation at 15kHz approx. 2 (3) dB. Diameter 100mm, length 440 (610)mm.
